Cost of Rehabilitation

Transparent framing — because your family deserves clarity.

This page explains what residential rehabilitation actually costs in India, what drives variation, what is included in the fee, and what is not. We do not publish a fixed number because residential treatment cost depends on real clinical variables — but we do not hide anything either.

01 — What the fee covers

What you are actually paying for.

Residential rehabilitation fees look large compared to informal nasha mukti kendras because the inputs are substantially different. Here is what the difference buys.

01

On-site psychiatric leadership

A qualified psychiatrist on-site — not a visiting consultant — is the most expensive and most valuable line item. Medical decisions, medication protocols, withdrawal management, and ongoing psychiatric review depend on this presence.

02

Substance-specific medical detox

Benzodiazepine-tapered alcohol detox, buprenorphine-based opioid detox, slow-taper benzodiazepine withdrawal. Medications, continuous vitals monitoring, and 24×7 nursing staff through the acute withdrawal window.

03

Daily individual + group therapy

Qualified psychologists delivering CBT, motivational interviewing, 12-step integration. Daily individual sessions during residential stay; group therapy sessions alongside.

04

Family therapy integration

Weekly family sessions with a qualified psychologist throughout the residential stay. For distant families, remote sessions included at no additional cost.

05

Structured 12-month aftercare

Post-discharge outpatient counselling (weekly → monthly), AA/NA meeting connection, monthly family sessions, medication continuation, relapse-warning-sign monitoring, fast-track re-admission access. A full year of post-treatment structure.

06

Accommodation, nutrition, holistic supports

Private or shared residential room, clinically-managed nutrition, yoga and meditation facilities, garden and recreation spaces, 24×7 nursing station, all basic personal-care items.

02 — What drives the variation

Five variables explain the spread.

Residential treatment cost varies materially between patients. The five variables below explain nearly all of the spread. An admissions assessment identifies where a given patient sits across each.

  1. 01

    Substance & severity

Heroin and poly-substance dependency typically require longer residential programmes (60–120+ days) and more intensive medical management than moderate alcohol dependency (45–60 days). Severity is the single biggest cost driver.

  2. 02

    Room type

Private rooms cost more than shared accommodation. Both deliver the same clinical care; the difference is privacy preference and family affordability.

  3. 03

    Co-occurring medical conditions

Patients with liver disease, diabetes, or cardiovascular complications require additional specialist coordination and potentially outside-centre consultations. Cost scales with clinical complexity.

  4. 04

    Programme duration

28-day, 45-day, 60-day, 90+ day residential — duration is the most direct cost variable. Duration is recommended clinically after the assessment, not chosen by the family to hit a price point.

  5. 05

    Post-discharge medication

Some aftercare plans include long-term anti-craving medications (naltrexone, acamprosate, buprenorphine). Medication costs are discussed transparently during discharge planning.
