Recent overdose event, visible drug paraphernalia with escalating use, or the patient is using quantities that have previously caused overdose. This needs same-day admission with medical supervision.
Acute self-harm or crisis behaviour
Patient is in acute crisis, expressing intent to harm themselves, or behaviour has escalated beyond what the family can safely manage at home. Our team coordinates immediate medical care alongside admission.
Violence or danger at home
Patient’s substance-use behaviour is putting family members (especially children or elderly) at physical risk. Immediate removal to a clinical environment protects both patient and family.
